- Run a full MelMat brief from any ChatGPT conversation, on any device
- Keep chatting while the brief runs. ChatGPT tells you when it is ready
- The complete formatted brief with sources always arrives in your email too
- Pull any of your last 15 briefs back into a conversation and work with them
- Your plan, engine choices, and query cap work exactly the same as in the MelMat app
- An active MelMat subscription (any plan)
- A paid ChatGPT plan: Pro, Team, Enterprise, or Edu. Custom connections are not available on free ChatGPT accounts
- On Team and Enterprise plans, your workspace admin must allow Developer mode
In ChatGPT, open Settings, go to Security and login, and switch on Developer mode. On some accounts this toggle lives under Settings, then Connectors, then Advanced settings. ChatGPT moves this occasionally; it is always inside Settings.
Go to Settings, then Plugins, then Browse plugins. Depending on your account this area may be called Connectors or Apps. Click the + button next to the search bar.
| Name | MelMat |

| Trust | Check "I trust this application" |
Click Create.
A MelMat sign-in window opens. Enter the email you use with MelMat, then the 6-digit code we send to your inbox. That is it: you stay signed in for 90 days across all your devices.
Enable the MelMat connection in your conversation, then ask naturally:
ChatGPT starts the brief and you keep working on anything else. Briefs typically take a few minutes; ChatGPT lets you know when yours is ready, and the complete version with formatted sources is delivered to your email every time. The first time a MelMat tool runs, ChatGPT may ask you to confirm. That is ChatGPT's standard safety prompt for connected tools.
Other things you can say:
- "What engines can I use on my MelMat plan?"
- "Show my MelMat history" and then "pull up brief 3 in full"
- "Check my MelMat status" for tier, usage, and remaining queries
- "Run that through MelMat with Claude, Mistral, and Gemini, financial focus"
| No Developer mode toggle | Your ChatGPT plan does not include it, or your workspace admin has disabled it. Developer mode requires Pro, Team, Enterprise, or Edu. |
| No sign-in window | Allow popups for chatgpt.com, then retry the connection. |
| Code never arrives | Check spam for a message from [email protected]. Codes expire after 10 minutes; just request a new one. |
| Tools do not appear in chat | Make sure the MelMat connection is enabled for that conversation, and phrase your request with the action you want, for example "MelMat this". |
| Session expired | Sign-ins last 90 days. When yours lapses, ChatGPT reopens the MelMat sign-in window automatically. |
| Anything else | Email [email protected] and we will get you connected. |
The connection is scoped to your MelMat account only. ChatGPT can run briefs, check your usage, and read your own brief history. It cannot see other customers, your billing details, or anything outside the MelMat tools listed above. Your queries are handled under the same Privacy Policy and Terms as the MelMat app.
To disconnect: say "log me out of MelMat" in a chat (this revokes the 90-day session on our side), then remove the MelMat connection in ChatGPT's settings. Your MelMat app sign-in is unaffected.
